FINAL!!!

Wow! This semester is over! I am working on my powerpoint and its a little harder than I thought it would be! Hopefully it works out!!!! We will see on tuesday!! :)

Week #14

Wow! This semester has flown by! I am starting my powerpoint and I think it will be a good challenge for me! I have found the topic and lesson plan that I am going to use and I think it will be really good. I haven't ever done an interactive powerpoint so it should be interesting! I am sure I will be emailing you with any random questions that I might have!! :) Happy Last Week of School!!

Week #13

I love all of the new technologies that we can use in the classroom. It was a very interesting class learning about all of it! I enjoyed it! Just so you know I might have to leave early again on Tuesday because my brother is being set apart as a missionary. He leaves on Wednesday so I will stay in class as long as I can! Thanks!!

Week #12

I thought I was going to be very confused but I am understanding this assignment quite well! I think I have it mostly done, there might be a few more things I need to tweak but I am feeling good about it! I can't believe there are only a few weeks left in this semester. It feels great! :) I am also feeling much better, no more being sick for me!! hahaha! This class has helped me so how helpful technology in the classroom can be!

Week #11

Man oh Man!! I have had a rough week! I have been flat in bed for the last 5 days! I finally went to the doctor yesterday and she said I had strep, and it was one of the worst cases she has ever seen! But I am finally on the mend and I will be in class on tuesday! My group has contacted me and it will be great! I need to open up the document and start working on it! Thanks for your patience and for helping me out!!

Week #10

I was not it class this past week and last night I got sick, I am willing to travel down to class if you think it is important that I be there tonight, but I do not think it would be very smart for me to be around other people. I have a fever, aches, and a sore throat. What will we be doing in class today? I will meet with you next week if that is ok and we can get me caught up on everything. I am pretty familiar with computers, so hopefully it isn't to hard for me to catch up!! Let me know asap if possible! Thanks so much!!

Week #9

Another week down! I did not come to class this past week and I will not be there this week (most likely) I am working on my pictures and you asked if I have been able to upload to a web album, I keep all of my pictures backed up on the web album (but I have them all private) Do I need to have a public one for the class?? I really enjoy picasa and all of the amazing things that it can do! Face recognition is amazing! Ohhh technology! What would we do without it?!?! It is so wonderful!!

Week #8

I love Picasa. I use it for all of my photo needs and it was fun learning how to edit them! I like this assignment and I am looking for educational ideas so I can start my project! It will be wonderful! It was a great class!!

Week #7

Wow! Who would of thought that Digital cameras could be used so much in the classroom?!?! I think it is so cool that we have so much available at our fingertips! I am also so excited to learn more about using Picasa. It is the program I use and I am excited to learn a little bit more about it and how to edit in it! Thanks!! :)

Week #6

This past week was fun playing around with Kidspiration. I think it could be a great program if you understood it. I would like to learn more about it and all of the things that it has to offer. I am looking forward to learning more and using technology more in the classroom. I think this class has been very useful and I am glad I had to take it! :)

Week 5

I am starting to get the hang of this! I hope I can continue using myUEN throughout my teaching career. It is a great resource. I feel a lot more comfortable with this! I liked this past assignment, I got to find more information on a country that I love! I served a LDS Mission in Chile and it was so much fun to read about it and remember all of the great things they have down there!!

Week 4!!

I am getting more use to myUEN, I love all of the tools that are at our fingertips as educators! It is so amazing that we have so many things to help us become the best teachers that we can be. There is also so much available to students. I know as a student I didn't take advantage of these things like I should have. When I have my own students I will try and help them use these things and get as much use out of them so that they are more educated.

Last time in class I was a little frustrated because myUEN kept closing on me and I didn't get anything accomplished. Today I decided to try again and everything worked really well! I think I might be getting the hang of it! :)

Week 3

Another week down!! I am trying to get the hang of my.uen but this past assignment was a little harder for me! I am enjoying learning how to use this amazing site. It has such great resources that I will be able to use as a teacher! I am enjoying this site!

I love learning about all of the resources we have as educators! There is so much available to us in the click of a mouse! It is truley amazing and I hope as a teacher I will be able to take advantage of all of these amazing things! There is so much available!! I never knew it all existed! Thank you for opening my eyes to all of these amazing things!!!

Week 2

I have a feeling I am going to enjoy this class. I really enjoyed making My UEN page. This past week I was talking to a few teachers in the school where I work and they went to visit a couple different elementary schools to get ideas on what they want to do for our faculty room, as I was talking to them they talked about how cool the new school was because it is a paper-less school. All of the kids from 3rd Grade through 6th Grade have laptops on their desks and they do everything there. They send their assignments straight to their teachers. It made me think a lot about this class and how great it is that they are using that kind of technology in the classroom. I was also discussing with some of my friends that same thing and one of them said "I think they need to take technology out of the classroom" I highly disagree. His argument was that he gets distracted so easily when he has his laptop in class that he doesn't learn, but I think that if there is a better way to monitor what kids are doing in the classroom it is a great way to learn. Those kids are going to be at so much of an advantage that the kids in the school where I work that hardly get computer time.

I am learning lots in this class and I am enjoying it!!

My First Post!

This is my first blog post for Computer Technology in the Classroom. This first class was very good. I have thought a lot about how we can use technology in the classroom to help our students. In this world technology is so prevalent and it is so important that we can integrate it into our classrooms. I have seen many children who don't know how to type and it is so fundamental in this world. I loved the video that we watched in class that was full of all of the different ideas that we can use. I have never thought of half of the things that it talked about. I am excited to use those ideas in my classroom one day. I know that kids love technology and it is all they will use in work and throughout their lives. I hope that I can be a good educator and that I will always be able to learn new things about technology. Everything in this world is changing so much and I am so excited to keep learning!

I am looking forward to learning in this class and I know it will be very beneficial for my future students! :)
